چکیده

Barotolerant bacterium was isolated from sediment sample which was obtained from the depth of 4033 m in the Izu-Ogasawara Trench. The physiological property, growth characteristics and fatty acid composition were examined. The strain was a psychrotrophic and barotolerant bacterium, and was identified as species in the genus Alteromonas. The fatty acids of the strain were from C12 to C18. As the growth pressure increased, the portion of unsaturated fatty acid in membrane fraction increased due to an increase in the portion of C17:1 and C18:1, while the relative portion of C16:0 and C16:1 decreased. On the other hand, as the growth temperature decreased, the portion of unsaturated fatty acid increased due to the increase in the portion of C16:1 and C18:1.

Proximate and Fatty acid Composition of the Southern Caspian Sea Macroalgae

The nutritional values of the three Caspian Sea macroalgae species, Cladophora glomerata, Enteromorpha intestinalis and Laurencia caspica were evaluated based on proximate and fatty acid composition. The investigated species demonstrated low lipid composition (0.20±0.03- 1.62±0.26 % DW) and high carbohydrate (21.70±0.17-26.1±1.27%DW) and protein contents (13.34±2.41-28.08±0.51%DW). The as...

FabF is required for piezoregulation of cis-vaccenic acid levels and piezophilic growth of the deep-Sea bacterium Photobacterium profundum strain SS9.

To more fully explore the role of unsaturated fatty acids in high-pressure, low-temperature growth, the fabF gene from the psychrotolerant, piezophilic deep-sea bacterium Photobacterium profundum strain SS9 was characterized and its role and regulation were examined. An SS9 strain harboring a disruption in the fabF gene (strain EA40) displayed growth impairment at elevated hydrostatic pressure ...

Fatty acid composition of fresh and smoked Black and Caspian Sea sprat, Clupeonella cultriventris (Nordmann, 1840) treated with different salt composition

The effect of salting by different salt composition on fatty acid profile studied in hot smoked Black and Caspian Sea sprat, Clupeonella cultriventris. After initial prepare activities, samples were exposed to brining process within two salt concentrations including of 100 % NaCl (treatment 1 or T1) and 75 % NaCl- 25 % KCl (treatment 2 or T2) under 15% brine solution for 3 hrs. The smoking proc...

Impacts of gamma radiation on nutritional components of minimal processed cultured sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax)

Eviscerated sea bass, Dicentrarchus labrax were irradiated by Cobalt-60 at commercial irradiation facility at dose of 2.5 and 5 kGy at 2–4°C. The influences of the irradiation on proximate, fatty acid and amino acid composition in cultured sea bass were investigated. Significant differences (P < 0.0.5) were found between non-irradiated and irradiated sea bass in terms of moisture, protein, fa...

Species composition and barotolerance of gut microflora of deep-sea benthic macrofauna collected at various depths in the atlantic ocean.

The bacterial flora of marine animals collected at depths of 570 to 2,446 m was examined for population size and generic composition, and the barotolerant characteristics of selected bacterial isolates were determined. Total numbers of culturable, aerobic, heterotrophic bacteria were found to be low in animals collected at the greatest ocean depths sampled in this study. Vibrio spp. were predom...
